They say the truth hurts, but with the Electric Shock Lie Detector, telling porkie-pies will hurt much more. Here's how to play. Place your hand into the mould on the device, making sure you make contact with all the sensors, and strap yourself in. After resetting, press the 'analyzer' button, and the detector takes a reading of your vital statistics. Answer the truth to three warm-up questions (e.g. your name, age and gender) for the detector to regulate your readings. Then the real questions begin...
If you answer the truth to your interrogator's questions, you'll be fine. Lie, and you'll be punished with an electric shock. Of course the obvious solution is not to lie, but there are some questions no one wants to answer truthfully - and depending on how cruel your fellow players are, these are the ones certain to come up.
The big question is, do you have the presence of mind to lie through your teeth without sweating and setting off the sensors? Or will you collapse like a jelly and confess?
Don't think you can get around the Electric Shock Lie Detector by being evasive or telling half-truths. It measures 'lie levels' using a sequence of five LEDs, going from green to red. The more you deviate from the truth, the more LEDs light up, and the closer you get to a shock - not to mention being found out.
